Mahindra Powerol recognized for the 'Best Innovation or Technology of the Year' award at MEE Dubai

Feb ‘14: On 11th February 2014, Mahindra Powerol was honoured at the globally recognized Middle East Electricity Awards for the Best Innovation or Technology of the Year category.

Powerol’s newly implemented Electronic Fuel Saving System (EFSS) in its diesel generators was considered amongst the top positions for the ‘Best Innovation or Technology of the Year’ category for the 2014 Middle East Electricity Awards. The awards this year had received a high number of entries, all of a very high standard from various countries around the world.

The implementation of the EFSS will help to reduce the consumption of diesel by 18% thus substantially reducing the overall carbon footprint while operating a diesel generator. It will also lower the operational expenses of the telecom towers.

This award recognises the introduction of new technology, including: renewable energy, back-up power, energy storage devices, advanced propulsion systems and/or electric/hybrid transport. The innovation/technology should fill a gap or drastically improve existing methods in the market. The nominations were assessed on the R&D, ingenuity and commercialisation of the new technology. Powerol’s EFSS has been recognized for its potential to become a future game changer in the Powergen industry.

The award was announced at a prestigious Awards Gala Dinner on Tuesday 11th February 2014 at the Dubai International Exhibition Center. On behalf of Mahindra Powerol this honour was received by Mr. Sandeep Daniel, Department Head – International Business, Mr. Mukesh Bansal, General Manager, PSM, Mr. Joy Ghosh, Sr. Brand Manager and Mr. Krunal Shelke, Country Manager- Middle East.

This recognition serves a great motivation for Mahindra Powerol to keep pushing the limits and constantly innovate to retain its standing as one of the most innovative and technologically advanced providers of power generating solutions.

Mahindra Powerol conducts ‘GCDP’ for its overseas service technicians

Jan ’14: Mahindra Powerol recently conducted its ‘Global Capability Development Program (GCDP) – Phase II’ for the overseas service technicians from 23rd January, 14 to 31st January, 2014. The training program was structured considering the real world usage practices (RWUP) of countries and helping the service technicians to improve their skills, workmanship and confidence in handling technical matters on the field. The 9 days program mainly focussed on providing hands on experience in overhauling/ rebuilding of engines & alternators. It also covered trouble-shooting of technical complaints along with hands-on experience of handling different types of controllers.

A total of eight participants from African countries of Zambia, Nigeria, Rwanda and Saudi Arabia were trained by various faculties (including MHEPL), who are experts in their  fields. The training was organised at Chakan premises of MHEPL & Powerol plants. Hands-on performance checking & testing of engine, alternator, controllers and complete DG set were conducted. A pre-test & post-test was done for the training to assess & gauge the training effectiveness, followed by an overall feedback to the participants.

On the concluding day, the participants visited Kandivali   for an interaction & feedback session with Mr. P. Palaniappan, Sr. Vice President & Business Head – Powerol followed by “Certified Mahindra Engine Rebuild Technician” certification to all the participants.

Mahindra Powerol organizes the second Value Business Partner Cricket Cup

Jan ‘14: Mahindra Powerol, in its attempt to be closer to its customers, organized a friendly cricket match with one of its major customers Bharti Infratel Limited (BIL). This 2 match series was held on the 11^th of January ’14 in Chandigarh. The team of Mahindra Powerol’s Haryana and Punjab office played against Bharti Infratel’s Haryana and Punjab circle. Both teams fought it out on the field with senior members of BIL actively cheering on their team throughout the day. The Mahindra Powerol team took the cup with a 2-0 win. The team was felicitated at the awards ceremony.

Mahindra Powerol also organized a group lunch over which both teams networked with each other. 

Special thanks to Harpreet Sethi, Sr. Area Manager, for initiating and organizing this event along with Jagdeep and Ishwar of Powerol’s Mohali Area Office.

This initiative helped strengthen the relationship between Mahindra Powerol and one of its biggest telecom customers. The customers greatly appreciated this initiative and look forward to similar interactions in the future.
